Grundlegende Funktionen
Once connected to remote computer, you will have all the features available in the session toolbar. This manual explains the layout and functionality of the toolbar.
Überblick
The toolbar remains divided into three main sections:
- Left Section: Access to session, desktop and files controls.
- Center Section: Tools for managing the remote desktop view and other tools (administrative mode, restart, send ctrl+alt+del etc.).
- Right Section: Chat, camera/mic and window control features.

Session menu
ISL Light > Session > “Session” menu
- Dashboard: Access the central hub to view all ongoing sessions or computers. Ideal for quickly switching between active support cases or managing unattended devices.
- Edit Session: Add a session name or internal notes to help organize and filter sessions in dashboards and reports.
- System Info: View detailed technical data about the remote computer (e.g., OS, CPU, RAM, IP) to aid troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Start Recording: Record the current session, including chat, audio, and video. Useful for documentation, compliance, or training review.
- Invite Operator / Transfer Session: Bring in another operator or hand off the session without requiring the client to reconnect or re-enter codes.
- Connect via RDP/SSH: Initiate a remote session using native RDP or SSH protocols.
- Pause Session: Pause an active session and resume it later, even from another device. This avoids requiring the client to re-enter a session code.
- End Session: End an active session.
Desktop Menu
ISL Light > Session > "Desktop" menu
- View Desktop: Display the remote desktop interface for real-time support.
- Share Desktop: Share your own screen with the remote user. You can choose to share your entire screen, a specific application, or a selected region.
- Request Control: If the mouse/keyboard control is taken or not enabled, you can request it via this option. The remote user must approve your control request.
- Display Area: Choose to view the full desktop, monitors or select a custom region.
- Stop Desktop Streaming: Ends desktop viewing or sharing.
Files Menu
ISL Light > Session > "Files" menu
- Send Files: Transfer files from your computer to the remote device.
- Receive Files: Transfer files from the remote device to your computer.
- Eventlog: Access file transfer logs to monitor upload/download actions during the session. Helpful for auditing and tracking file movement.
- Display Transfers: Open a panel showing active and past file transfer progress. Provides real-time status of queued or completed actions.
- Open File Manager: Launches a dedicated dual-panel file manager for advanced file navigation and transfer operations between local and remote device.
Monitors & Scaling
ISL Light > Session > Display Settings
- Monitor 1 / Monitor 2 / Monitor ... / All Monitors: Switch between individual remote monitors or display all of them.
- One-to-One Size: Displays the remote desktop at its native resolution without scaling. Ensures pixel-accurate rendering.
- Fit to View: Scales the remote screen to fit within the local window, maintaining visibility without requiring scrollbars.
Whiteboard-Werkzeuge
ISL Light > Session > "Whiteboard" menu
- Tool: Draw freely on the remote screen using a virtual marker. Ideal for annotating during explanations or training.
- Pointer: Highlight specific elements on the remote screen with an arrow indicator. Helps direct attention without drawing.
- Clear All: Removes all annotations from the remote screen.
- Clear manually: Annotations remain until manually cleared.
- Clear automatically in 5 seconds: Auto-removes annotations after 5 seconds delay.
- Clear automatically in 10 seconds: Auto-removes annotations after 10 seconds delay.
- Mouse Control: A button to the right of the whiteboard tools that switches back to mouse control.
View Menu
ISL Light > Session > "View" menu
- Optimize Quality / Optimize Speed: Quick presets to prioritize either image quality or performance. Useful when network conditions change during the session.
- Quality: Manually set the display quality (Low, Medium, High, Best). Higher settings improve readability at the expense of increased bandwidth usage.
- Screen Resolution: Adjust the remote display resolution to match your local screen. This improves visual alignment and makes working easier when both sides share the same resolution.
- View Options: Choose from simplified scaling presets like Fit to Screen, Fill, 1:1, 1:2, or Fit by Width/Height to adjust the remote view as needed.
- Toolbar: Set toolbar position (top, left, right).
- Desktop Driver: Select which driver should be used to capture the remote screen updates.
- Open Monitors in Multiple Windows: Open each remote monitor in a separate window.
Tools Menu
ISL Light > Session > "Tools" menu
- Ctrl + Alt + Del: Sends a sequence to the remote system. Commonly used to access login, lock, or task manager screens.
- Paste (Simulate Typing): Sends clipboard content as simulated keystrokes. Useful for pasting text into secure password fields where clipboard pasting is disabled.
- Print Screen: Adds to clipboard a screenshot of the remote desktop.
- Administrative Mode: Elevate the session to gain admin privileges on the remote desktop.
- Quick Launch: Access applications for faster troubleshooting.
- Enable Black Screen (Curtain mode): Blanks out the remote display to protect sensitive actions from on-site viewing. Useful for privacy or unattended maintenance.
- Lock Computer: Lock the remote device.
- Disable Clipboard: Temporarily turn off clipboard synchronization between local and remote systems. Useful when clipboard content should remain isolated for privacy or security reasons.
- Keyboard Layout: Adjust or synchronize the keyboard layout between local and remote systems. Helps avoid input mismatches when using different regional settings.
- Stream Remote Sound: Plays audio from the remote device.
- Set Unattended Access: Configure the remote computer for unattended connections. Allows future access without requiring manual approval from the remote user.
Chat, Camera & Mic
ISL Light > Session > "Right Section" aka Communication & Window Controls
- Chat: Operators and clients can exchange text messages during a remote session. Useful for clarifying actions, sharing instructions, or copying error messages without interrupting screen sharing.
- Camera and Microphone: The "Camera" and "Microphone" buttons are available in the toolbar, allowing you to start or manage audio and video with a single click.
Window Controls
ISL Light > Session > "Right Section" aka Communication & Window Controls
- Hide/Show Toolbar: Manually show or hide the session toolbar.
- Full Screen: Expand the remote session to full-screen mode.
